Bluebirds Nesting Prayer
Lord, thank you for this place to light,
And for this nest that's safe and dry,
That's warm until the chill is gone,
A haven till our chicks do fly.
Now, we know that danger lurks
At every turn along the way.
But shelter comes beneath your wings
Where we are covered every day.
(Overheard in the piedmont of North Carolina, naturally.)
Original poem by dwarbritton.
