Do bluebirds make you smile, like me
Just a flash of blue across my way
And an upturned grin will likely be
To last througout the rest of day
Tiny little critters and sometimes hard to see
They flit and flutter 'cross our lives and destiny
Seldom has the sight of one in front of me
Brought anything but joy and perfect harmony
Now we may build a box or two
So they can nest both safe and sound
To lay their eggs where none can view
And fledge their clutch above the ground
For bluebirds hold a special place
In all that view and watch them grow
They occupy a rare exclusive space
That lifts and sets our hearts aglow
Other birds bring smiles and grins
But none can bring that sense of cheer
For none seem quite so close as friends
As ones in blue we hold so dear
